epa10104072 An undated handout picture made available by the European Space Agency (ESA) shows an artist's impression of the Copernicus Sentinel-1 imaging radar mission (issued 03 August 2022). In December 2021, the Copernicus Sentinel-1B experienced issues on the instrument electronics power supply provided by the satellite platform, leaving it unable to deliver radar data. ESA and the European Commission announced on 03 August 2022 the end of the mission for Sentinel-1B, despite efforts by spacecraft operators and engineers to rectify the issue. However, 'Sentinel-1A remains very healthy in orbit, continuing to deliver high-quality radar images for a multitude of applications,' ESA added.
